LEES Senior Grant Audit Manager, Ellen Thompson, has been elected Treasurer of NCURA’s International Region. Ellen will serve as treasurer elect before taking up her term as treasurer of NCURA’s dedicated group for Research Administrators from outside the United States.

Ellen is a Chartered Accountant, and an alumni of both the University of Stirling, Scotland, and University of Massachusetts, Amherst, US. As well as being Treasurer-Elect for NCURA Region VIII, she is also the co-champion of the ARMA Audit & Compliance Special Interest Group.

LEES attended and presented on mitigating financial risk in a global environment, auditing european awards for US participants, and to keep up-to-date on current issues for foreign recipients of US Federal Funding.

LEES attended the EARMA conference in Prague 2023, they led a round-table discussion on current issues in grant auditing, and attended to learn post-award developments over the new Horizon Europe programme.

LEES attended the NCURA Financial Research Administration Conference in March 2023 in Las Vegas to keep up to date in current financial issues in US Federal Funding, and present on Horizon Europe financial issues for US Participants.

LEES attended as sponsor and lanyard partner at ARMA 2022 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The conference focussed on the most pressing issues for the sector as it emerged from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

LEES attended NCURA’s 64th Annual Meeting in Washington DC and presented a sessions on the impact of auditing in a pandemic.
